Limericks by Mr. Bobby
There once was a man named Tittle.
Had a talented dog named Diddle.
From all over town,
the people came 'round
to watch Tittle's Diddle play fiddle.
~~~~~~
We once had a pink and green cat,
who thought he could capture a rat.
He chased one one day,
but the rat got away.
Guess the rat showed the cat how to scat!
~~~~~~
I once had a teacher named Skip,
who they said was as smart as a whip.
I asked him one day,
but he didn't say,
"Do brown cows give chocolate milk?"
~~~~~~
There once was a farmer named Pate,
who had a cow that could skate.
She had a bad spill,
and rolled down a hill.
And that's how you make a milkshake!
The Bug Poem
It's fun to catch a lot of bugs,
if you know which bugs to catch.
Cause bugs can sting and bugs can bite,
and some can make you scratch.
Which ones I can, which ones I can't,
I guess I just don't know.
So I'll just ask my dad for help.
Cause Daddy always knows.
Kids
Kids are short, kids are tall.
Some kids dance, some play ball.
Kids like ice cream, kids like toys.
Some are girls, the rest are boys.
Kids can laugh, kids can cry.
Kids make friends, if they try.
Some have freckles, some red hair.
Some have talents they can share.
Kids have dogs, kids have cats.
Some wear sneakers, some wear hats.
Kids ride horses, kids ride bikes.
Kids throw snowballs, kids fly kites.
Kids are happy, sometimes sad.
Mostly good, rarely bad.
A Blue Balloon
I had a blue balloon,
the kind that floats
up into the sky.
I let it go and I think
I heard it say,
"Thank you for
setting me free, so I
can go where the
wind takes me, so I
can soar like the eagles,
so I can see the
beauty of the Earth."
I watched it as long
as I could, until it
joined the blue of the sky.
I wonder
how high it flew.
I wonder
if someone saw it.
They come down, you know.
I wonder
where it came down.
I wonder where.
I wonder.
the kind that floats
up into the sky.
I let it go and I think
I heard it say,
"Thank you for
setting me free, so I
can go where the
wind takes me, so I
can soar like the eagles,
so I can see the
beauty of the Earth."
I watched it as long
as I could, until it
joined the blue of the sky.
I wonder
how high it flew.
I wonder
if someone saw it.
They come down, you know.
I wonder
where it came down.
I wonder where.
I wonder.
