Daphne the Dandelion

This is the story of Daphne the Dandelion. Daphne was a
weed that grew in Mr. Bigalow's front yard. She was different
and odd looking and nobody wanted her. Her leaves were dull,
not bright and shiny like the grass or dancing in the wind
like the flowers. That made Daphne sad so she just sat there
on the ground. One day, Daphne's stem began to grow.
And it grew, and it grew, and it grew. Then, almost like a
miracle, a pretty yellow bloom appeared at the top of Daphne's
stem. Now the grass and the other plants looked up to Daphne
and admired her beauty. Daphne was no longer a weed but a
cheerful yellow flower reaching for the sky. And Mr. Bigalow's
front yard was a much prettier place because of
Daphne the Dandelion and her beautiful yellow flower
